Weekly Top 30 TV Shows: November 12 - 18

BBM released its latest weekly list of Top 30 TV programs watched by Canadians. This is their rankings for the period of November 12 to 18:

Notes: The “+/-” is calculated as the difference in the Average Minute Audience between current week and the previous week. The “% ∆” is calculated as the percentage change in the Average Minute Audience between the two weeks. The “Prev” category denotes the ranking of the program from the previous week. A (-) denotes the program not appearing in the previous week's Top 30 programs.

Notes from BBM Canada: "This chart shows the Top 30 TV programs for all national networks and Canadian English specialty networks for the week indicated. Programs are ranked based on their AMA...The chart also indicates the broadcast outlet on which the program aired and the program’s start and end time (shown in Eastern Time)." Demographic: All Persons 2+.

*This week, this program was aired on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

  • My take on the CFL Eastern and Western finals and the American Music Awards from earlier this week. Also, the Toronto Santa Claus Parade ratings are listed there.
  • Arrow moved to its new time slot at 7 PM, but in the process, CTV lost 16% of its audience from the previous week. At this stage, it's difficult to determine whether a portion of viewers were unaware of this time change or this is an early sign of the program being unsuited for that time slot. Bell Media originally aired Arrow on CTV2 where their lesser popular shows live. Since its series premiere, which aired on October 11, and second episode were such ratings hits, Bell Media moved the show to its main network on CTV at the same time slot. A few weeks ago, the show was moved again. Now, it's one hour earlier, which CTV is proclaiming it as its permanent home.
  • Blue Bloods was a repeat on CTV. On CBS, it was preempted by a Whitney Houston special.
