Weekly Top 30 TV Programs, January 14-20

BBM released its latest weekly list of Top 30 TV programs watched by Canadians. This is their rankings for the period of January 14 to January 20:

Notes: The “+/-” is calculated as the difference in viewers from the the previous week to the current week. The “% ∆” is calculated as the percentage change in the number of viewers between the two weeks.
Notes from BBM Canada: "This chart shows the Top 30 TV programs for all national networks and Canadian English specialty networks for the week indicated. Programs are ranked based on their AMA...The chart also indicates the broadcast outlet on which the program aired and the program’s start and end time (shown in Eastern Time)." Demographic: All Persons 2+.

The first Saturday night NHL game of the shortened season, featuring the Leafs and Habs, was the most watched TV program of the week and was the most watched Hockey Night in Canada regular season broadcast ever.

NCIS and CSI jumped ahead of the Big Bang Theory thanks to a repeat of the CBS sitcom. CSI viewership jumped by 75% compared from the previous week since it's the first new episode of the new year.

NHL fans couldn't wait for the return of their beloved Habs and Leafs on TV. Hockey Night in Canada's pre-game show for the Montreal-Toronto game had a much larger audience than usual, beating the NFL playoffs. Five out the thirty show are Hockey Night in Canada, whether they were pre-game shows or live broadcasts.

CTV weekend news -- In that week, there was only the Saturday newscast -- received a bump of 12% in audience. Perhaps, the NHL season opener between Canada's most popular hockey teams may have convinced more people to stay at home.
